Hi All;
We are in Echuca about 220 kms north of Melbourne. Echuca has a pop of about 12000 and is a town steeped in history of paddle steamers carting produce/passengers but mainly timber used for railway sleepers to open Australia in the 1800's

We took a paddle steamer ride for a hour, great trip, got the low down from the Captain it would have been a very hard life back in those days. The movie, "the rivers run" was filmed here about those times

I went to the Holden car museum here, simply amazing, the condition and low mileage on some of the vehicles is unbelievable

The weather, good yesterday but rain overnight and today, but we are warm and dry in the caravan

Tomorrow will move off towards Brokenhill, first to Swanhill and then Mildura. will start to get warmer and dryer!!

Hope you are all well

hi everyone
We are in Melbourne again !! we are both fine but we had a few concerns with the van by the time we had reached outback NSW, having left Batemans Bay on Saturday.  So we made the call to come directly to Melbourne where both the company and factory response has been very good to our needs and issues.  the additonal travel actually let us see parts of rural NSW and Victoria that we wouldnt have seen - got to look at the positives.  We wanted to have assurance that we had the issues sorted before we get too far north.  An unexpected change in the itinerary but fortunately we are not pressed for particular deadlines other than wanting to get away from the cold as soon as poss.  Will head to Ecucha , Mildura and Broken Hill over next few days

Some pics for you. photo 1 is at Bombay reserve not far from Batemans Bay - lovely spot where we free camped - had the place to ourselves and enjoyed the sound of the river babbling away.
Second pic of stunning sunset in rural NSW on our way back to Melbourne last night.  the huge horizon is just incredible.
third pic ( slightly out of order) before we headed back yesterday to Melbourne - hitting the red dirt roads in outback NSW.

hi
just at our next stage of the travels- currently at Batemans Bay NSW- enjoying beautiful weather which happened as we crossed the Vic/ NSW border !  we are staying with my sister Clare and brother- in- law David.  Making most of home comforts before the serious part of our travels start for the next many months.  photo 1 of our last day in Melbourne with the grandies and photo 2 - coastal NSW at its best - we camped with this view  - fabulous.

Gi'day from Oz,
Since Marian and I trialed the caravan for 2 nights at Kurth kiln, about 60kms out of Melbourne, we have put the van into storage and done our second house sit which was in Watsonia for 10days. We have been there before 3 years ago to look after Meggsie , their huge ginger cat and their Goldfish. Then moved back into Marsha and Justins (along with Finn and Neko) Marian has been immersing her self in the baby sitting duties where needed.Marsha and Justin have gone to tassie for the weekend for their 5th wedding anniversary so we are in total control of g/kids. I have been doing bits and pieces for Justin at Coffee Supreme ( Pay for a few tanks of diesel)
